've had a morning as chilly as we've had no. most of the region, we're in the 40s, thanks to this chilly dry high pressure, which a couple of days ago had temperatures down to near 20 degrees in minnesota, but certainly did moderate as it came over us. around the area, we have temperatures where you see the light blue in the 40s, and that includes much of northern virginia, just about all of maryland, including the eastern shore, and out of the mountains, a few of those areas in the darker blue, they're in the 30s in a few locations out in worcester and maryland and in the highlands of west virginia. quite a chill in the air this morning. thankfully not much wind. we'll be talk windchill. right now it's 56 at reagan national. that's the coolest temperature there since way last may. look at ocean city. they're down to a chilly 53. elkins, west virginia at 39 degrees. closer to washington it's in the 40s. montgomery, arlington, fairfax, prince george's counties. chilly and calm. lots of sun the rest of the day with highs reaching the mid 70s by afternoon. i'll be back in ten minutes. now a

and peel out later. >> you definitely need several layers this morning. we're down into the 40s. we're talking about a morning more like december than september. we fast forward here a couple of months at le region under a clear sky. it is down to the mid 40s in much of maryland and much of virginia. frederick there down to 43. so is martinsburg, cumberland, and it's in the 40s across most of northern virginia. mid 40s, fairfax, arlington, montgomery county, also the mid 40s, also into prince george's county. right near the bay waters. the waters are still pretty warm around 70 degrees. the temperatures in the 50s. a warm spot at 61. a little bit of a breeze off the bay here. a few pods out in west virginia are in the upper 30s right now. we do have a few clouds drifting over the region coming in from the south. they'll be with us from time to time this morning and through midday with a chilly start, though, by noon, we'll warm up dramatically to around 70. in fact, hit the mid 70s by mid afternoon. we're talking about a 30-degree jump from where we are right now. i'm back in ten mi
